Charlie Geren is a Republican who gets results.
He has fought successfully for local road funding, securing the Texas-Mexico border, and was a key leader in the effort to create our new Eagle Mountain Lake Park. Charlie is a tireless worker for our local school districts and has helped pass legislation to improve classroom excellence, raise teacher pay and to cut school property taxes. Charlie has also successfully fought to protect our conservative and family values including the right of religious prayer and expression in our schools. Charlie has received legislative awards from the Texas PTA and Teacher groups, Texas Association of Business, Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas Farm Bureau, Police & Fire Fighter groups, and local cities and schools districts.

He favors a new Republican Speaker to replace controversial Midland Republican Tom Craddick and Craddick’s policy of “absolute authority.” Under Craddick’s dictatorial abuse of power, Republicans have lost 11 districts to the Democrats.

He was raised locally, graduated from SMU, and runs a local bar-b-q restaurant
(The Railhead). His brother, Pete, was also recently appointed by President Bush as the new Secretary of the United States Army. Charlie is a member of a local Northwest Tarrant County church and is expecting his first grandchild this year. A former Deputy US
Marshal, Charlie gives generously of his time to local nonprofit groups including past and present leadership positions with the local Police and Fire Fighter Memorial Project, the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, Ronald McDonald House, the Fort Worth Zoo, Junior
